![]() ![]() We also offer a foster to adopt program where potential adopters can foster a bird for a period of time to see if they are a good fit with their home and family before committing and adopting. To foster or adopt through us we require a completed and approved application on file, a visit to the rescue to meet our owner and the birds, and a home inspection. Once we feel the bird is ready, we either place them in a qualified foster home until adopted or available for adoption. We do thouroughly screen any potential foster homes and adopters. We also utilize our fully screened in patio for the birds to get some fresh air and sunshine. We have play gyms, perches, and swings throughout our location for the birds to play on while out of their cages. We work with them on handling, socializing, and training. Each bird receives plenty of love and attention every day. We teach them to forage (a natural action they perform for hours a day in the wild) and work for their food. We also provide a proper sized cage with various types of perches and toys. ![]() While at the rescue, we convert the birds to a healthy diet (if not already on one). We make sure they are healthy and if not, work on helping them heal and become healthy. During this time we take them to an excellent avian veterinarian who has years of experience. When we take new birds in, we quarantine them away from the other birds for at least 30-45 days. There is no fee to relinquish your bird to us, but we do ask that you fill out a form to give us important information about the bird and his/her history. We are also wildlife rehabilitaters, we can take wild birds, from eggs all the way to owls, hawks, and crows. We take in all pet birds, hookbill parrots of all kinds from the smallest love bird, parrotlet, or cockatiel to the biggest macaws and cockatoos. We were founded in March of 2021 (although the staff have over 15 years animal experience and animal shelter experience). Hello! We are “Bird To The Rescue - Bird Rescue located in Riverside, CA.
